Anette Asher, Founder and CEO
Most recently, as CEO of George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers, she became intimately aware of the need to support caregivers—hence her new venture, dedicated to using technology to help mitigate caregiver burn-out.
Prior to Glenner, Anette was CEO of the Life Science Information Technology Global Institute. After LSIT merged with HIMSS where she served as acting director of life sciences information systems and successfully developed and published Good Informatics Practices (GIP), an aggregation of best practices, standards, regulations and tools to facilitate the deployment of better, faster and more affordable IT systems within life science and healthcare organizations.
Before joining LSIT, Anette was director of programs for CONNECT, a regional program that catalyzes the creation of innovative technology and life sciences products incubated by linking inventors and entrepreneurs with the resources they need for success. She later joined the San Diego Supercomputer Center at the University of California, San Diego, as head of industry relations for the life sciences community.
Terry Ribb, User Experience and Design
For over 20 years, Terry has been co-creating, ghost writing, designing and conuslting for global leaders who are CEOs, Founders, and Managing Partners in information technology and healthcare. She has established a knowledge-base of what "Web 3.0" is in product development and design. Working with visionary global leaders in data, AI, knowledge graphs, and UI/UX she has brought to CareZoom and Care To Caregiver a competitive advantage and contemporary approach that surpasses the common "web 2.0" marketplace concepts.
Robert Sanchez, Wireless Technology and Fintech
Mr. Sanchez has over 25 years of experience in the wireless and telecom space. He began his engineering career in the defense industry and became an early employee at wireless innovator Qualcomm.
After leaving Qualcomm in 1999, he found that his interest in wireless telecommunications continued to foster new ideas, leading him to co-found inCode Wireless, a consulting company to the major wireless telecommunication companies.
Following the sale of inCode Wireless to Verisign in 2006, he joined GlobalTel Media as the company’s President and CEO.
Mr. Sanchez holds an MSEE from the University of Southern California and a BA in Math from the University of California at San Diego. He also sits on several companies’ boards and is a senior member of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers.
Jason Cooper, Innovation and Information Analytics
Mr. Cooper most recently served as Vice President and Chief Analytics Officer for Horizon Healthcare Services Inc. where he was responsible for enterprise-wide data analytics and informatics.
Jason is a 20+year data and analytics professional and seasoned business executive specializing in analytics and informatics covering for-profit, nonprofit and government domains, including leading teams at Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, Cigna and CVS Health, as well as experience with advanced NIOSH, NASA, DOD and other software systems.
He is a well-published author, experienced public speaker and prior funded researcher.
Additionally, Jason is a member of the International Institute for Analytics, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the Healthcare Financial Management Association and Sentrian’s Advisory Board. He holds Masters Degrees in Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering.
Jason is owner and managing director of an analytics consulting firm.
Linda J. Speake, Administration and Project Management
For decades Linda has managed multiple varieties of Information Technology teams. Her experiences includes highly respected organizations such as General Electric, NASD/NASDAQ, Ford Aerospace, and Eli Lilly-Hybritech, several small bio-pharma organizations and most recently Hewlett-Packard.
At HP she was fortunate to manage a highly skilled “best and brightest” staff of professionals that supported the NASA account.
Linda’s primary experience is with life science organizations managing IT services, employees, vendors and consultants in every facet of technology. Linda was a certified auditor for ISO QMS 9001:2008 and contributed to authoring sections of Good Informatics Practices for LSIT/HIMSS.
Matt Norris, Business Development and Strategic Analysis
Mr. Norris has spent his professional life working in investment banking, venture capital and real estate. For the last eight years Matt has been involved in the bidding, development and management of U.S. government leased office space.
Prior to his work in real estate, Matt was a member of the Executive Finance Development Program at Thermo Fisher Scientific and was part of a small team responsible for all the finance activities related to the company’s Healthcare Division, a $1 billion revenue division.
Prior to attending business school, Matt worked at Comdisco Ventures as a portfolio manager focused on managing a portfolio of debt and equity investments ($80 million in investment) in technology and healthcare companies.
Before working at Comdisco Ventures, he joined OffRoad Capital, an investment bank focused on private capital raising activities utilizing the Internet as a distribution medium. As an associate in the Private Capital Group, Mr. Norris successfully managed 7 transactions raising $45 million in capital for private technology companies from a network of accredited investors via the Internet.
Bevey Miner, Healthcare IT Marketing and Strategist
Bevey has over 18 years of experience in healthcare technology. Instrumental in leading strategy, product management, business development and go-to-market programs, she is an expert in new and emerging healthcare IT markets. By defining and creating innovative marketing strategies she successfully launched more than a dozen new emerging markets companies. With an eye for building growth and value Bevey has broad marketing experience that includes, product development, pricing, packaging, product launch campaigns and positioning. She is hands-on as well as a dynamic team builder to cultivate partners and business development, implementations, policy and regulatory oversight, sales and marketing.
Bevey’s deep knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem includes payer models, digital health, healthcare information technology, interoperability and point-of-care solutions. Her passion is to be a driver for improving the US healthcare system where she has created or implemented programs to: better manage chronic illnesses, government incentives to increase quality, enhance patient-centric applications to push for better compliance and early detection, and improve patient intervention with changes in care models.
Adriana Vela, Technology & Innovation Catalyst
Founder of MarketTechNexus, LLC, Adriana Vela is a strategist and entrepreneur who has been at the forefront of innovative technologies in the high-tech, biotech, nanotech and immersive tech sectors. Her enterprise successes include launching dozens of products, driving industry standards, leading million-dollar initiatives, and defining new markets. Entrepreneurial success includes being quoted or featured in journal publications such as The Milken Institute Report: ‘Minds-to-Market’ and the San Diego Business Journal; magazines like PM Networks, PharmaTech Europe, SmallTimes, Hispanic Business, and San Diego Magazine; and the book titled “Work Together Anywhere”.
Currently, Adriana’s vision, experience, and research in multi-industry convergent technology trends culminated in founding MarketTecNexus. Through professional services and certified business advisory practice, MarketTecNexus works with corporate and SMB companies to develop adaptive growth strategies to manage technology and market disruptions.
Prior to MarketTecNexus and after 15 years in Silicon Valley’s high-tech industry, Adriana embarked in the Life Sciences arena through various client-led projects including the BioAgenda Think Tank Institute. In 2004 she founded award-winning NanoTecNexus Inc, a San Diego non-profit corporation to promote safe and market-accepted advances in nanosciences in areas ranging from medicine, healthcare, energy, water and others.
Under Adriana’s leadership, NanoTecNexus earned numerous awards including personal recognition from US Senator Dianne Feinstein. Early on, NanoTecNexus partnered with UC San Diego Medical Center as a named sub-recipient in a $20 million, 5-year grant funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Funding led to the creation of a Center for Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence (CCNE) who’s mission was to reduce to suffering for cancer patients and caregivers with nanotechnology applied solutions to cancer.
Prior to founding NanoTecNexus, Adriana was instrumental in building and shaping a similar organization in Silicon Valley. In 2013, Adriana also founded NanoTecNexus Learning Group to deliver similar educational programs for the benefit of K-12 students through nano-inspired STEM education. Adriana, together with her husband, is a caregiver and enjoys family time with two kids, outdoor activities and entertaining.
Ginger Cardona, Product Management
Ginger Cardona has been in medical software within product management and training for over 25 years. She had led multiple product management groups of more than twenty. Recently has been within the oncology software field.
Jeanine "Nini" Martin, FHIMSS, FACHE
Jeanine "Nini" Martin has been in the Health IT Industry for the past 25 years. Since June 2017, she is the Global Chief Growth Officer for C3 Global Biosciences.
As a Global Healthcare Strategist, Nurse Advocate-TIGER Champion & Clinical Informatician by trade, Nini most recently was Guest Speaker at the TN ACHE (CEO's in healthcare) Chapter event and at the 18th Annual Digital Health Frost & Sullivan program, 2017, in Nashville, TN.
Her undergraduate degree is in Business Economics (minor in Math) out of UCSB (Santa Barbara). She was then ONCHIT funded by Dr Farzad Mostoshari to attend the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to study Clinical Informatics via a 3 Year Certification program.
She spent almost a decade working under the leadership of Bill Gates and Steve Balmer as a member of Microsoft's Global Healthcare Strategy Committee that recommended investments, strategy, vision, innovation, solutions (300+ products with clinical workflow relevancy) and partnerships (350+ Global HIT vendors leveraging the Microsoft platform as a revenue channel). She helped the Team build the 1st US Health & Life Sciences software and services practice from its inception to a $2.5B Industry Business Unit. She was then recruited under the leadership of yet another Fortune 100 CEO to be the Global VP of Sales & Business Development to lead a Sales Team of 12 strategic sales representatives that could solution sell consultatively to the C-suite LOB in health provider organizations for Midas+ (a Care/Case Management, Advanced Analytics & Population Health Division of Xerox Commercial Healthcare), now a Conduent company (World's largest Global, cross-industry BPO at $6.8B & 93K employees). She increased their market penetration to 44% of the US Health provider systems above 300+ beds, i.e. Kaiser Permanente, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Intermountain, Banner, Sutter, Geisinger, UPMC.
She is the Past President of WITI (Women in Technology International), Founding President of WiTT (Women in Technology of TN), Past President of TN Chapter of AITP (International Association of IT Professionals), Past President-elect of the PMI Nashville Chapter, Founding Officer of the TN HIMSS Chapter, their CIO Advisory Council and their National Health IT Summit which coined Nashville the "Silicon Valley of Healthcare" back on 5/5/05. She was a former member of the Nashville Health Care Council, Advisor to Leadership Healthcare and a Board Committee member of the NTC (Nashville Technology Council).
She is a former Olympic-level athlete (tennis) who was born in Boston, raised in San Francisco and she now resides with her family in Brentwood, TN. Her husband is a Lt Colonel in the US Army out of Fort Knox, KY (former Deputy CIO for the 86th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq) who implemented the 1st wireless EMR at the bedside during wartime (see HBO's series "Baghdad ER") etc....Her native language is German and she loves sports, travel and music.
Steve Morrison, Finance and Treasurer
Steve has over 20 years of professional experience across multiple industries and within some of the largest companies in the world. Steve graduated from Brigham Young University with a dual Master’s Degree in Accounting and Information Systems and began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was one of the first to go through the firm’s system-based technology audit training programs, now a critical part of PwC’s assurance services.
While with PwC, he helped build the firm’s automated testing tools used to audit the accounting and processing controls of sophisticated Enterprise Resource Planning applications.
After leaving PwC, Steve held a management position within Motorola’s 75-person internal audit group where he became certified in Six Sigma, led an initiative to pivot the group into an internal consultancy group, and travelled around the world teaching regulation and compliance concepts to hundreds of finance, accounting and operations colleagues.
Steve moved to San Diego with CareFusion where he assisted the newly spun-off organization in building an audit and compliance organization from the ground up. Continuing his passion for developing leaders, Steve transformed his department to become a leadership development prototype for the rest of the organization. Steve has experience assisting start-up organizations in healthcare, technology, consulting and life sciences industries and has donated his time to worthwhile causes throughout his career, including organizations like the Boy Scouts of America, Carmel Dad’s Club, All Pro Dad’s Club, Temecula Youth Baseball and United Way.
Steve is a Certified Public Accountant.
Kristine McKeown, Sales and Digital Marketing
Kristine has been a top performer and senior level Director in sales roles for over 28 years.
She is a skilled negotiator and team builder to drive revenues and operational efficiencies. With tactical and innovative approaches to client retention she has increased sales 20% year over year. With her energetic attention to operational and contractual details including infrastructure development, she has doubled the number of transactions processed per day while reducing errors by over 75%.
Kristine has a passion for helping families and solving problems and is propelled to be a social entrepreneur who improves the well-being of families everywhere.
Nansi Kiwanuka, Founder of Family Care Zone (a partner to CareZoom)
Nansi is the Voice Of A Caregiver. After spending several years caring for a loved, she was driven to create Family Care Zone to help other families as they struggle with finding help, resources and services. She is passionate about social services and improving the lives of patients and caregivers wherever possible. Over the last 10 years, in addition to running Family Care Zone during nights and weekends, she works at ElderHelp by day
Rita Moufarrege, MSW.
Social Worker and the Voice of a Caregiver. University of Rochester (UR): Previously Primary Therapist at Older Adult’s Service, Primary Evaluator at UR Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program. New York Licensed Master Social Worker. Relocated to San Diego. MSW and Advanced Certificate in Gerontological Social Work from The Greater Rochester Collaborative MSW program - Nazareth College and SUNY College at Brockport.
Current volunteer Lay Eucharistic Visitor (LEV) at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Poway, CA, providing spiritual support to home-bound older adults and their caregivers. Twelve years of prior experience, serving as a LEV at St. Peter’s Church in Henrietta, NY. Facilitated a Matter of Balance Class at a senior care facility. Previously served as President of the Board of Directors of St. Peter’s Child Care Center in Henrietta, NY.
Through personal experience as a caregiver of an aging parent, as well as professional and volunteer experience working with caregivers, Rita emphasizes the importance of providing support via education, community resources and peer connections to prevent caregiver burnout.
Chris Corpuz, Principal of Reneu Health Inc.
As the Voice of a Caregiver and a voice for the patient, Chris provides Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy throughout San Diego, Imperial and Orange Counties in California. He has first-hand experience of being a caregiver, an advocate, and fills the gap in transitions of care and communications to help families maneuver post acute and chronic care interventions.
